PHILLIPINE SEA (Feb. 14, 2017) A B-1B Lancer aircraft assigned Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, flies over the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) as it transits the Philippine Sea. The B-1 is deployed in support of U.S. Pacific Commandâs Continuous Bomber Presence (CBP) mission. In place since 2004, the CBP missions are conducted by U.S. Air Force bombers such as the B-1, B-52 Stratofortress and B-2 Spirit in order to provide non-stop stability and security in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Malta (June 26, 2004) - The conventionally powered aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) pulls into the port of Valletta, Malta, for a scheduled port visit. Kennedy is one of seven aircraft carriers participating in Summer Pulse 2004. Summer Pulse 2004 is the simultaneous deployment of seven aircraft carrier strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat power across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces.
