PACIFIC OCEAN (April 2, 2008) An F/A-18F Super Hornet prepares to land aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group is conducting composite training unit exercise preparing for an upcoming deployment.

ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 27, 2008) A group of F/A-18E Super Hornets assigned to the "Tomcatters" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 31 make a low pass over the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in preparation for landing. Theodore Roosevelt and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 8 are conducting tailored ship's training availability and final evaluation problem.

PERSIAN GULF (April 2, 2008) Two F/A-18F Super Hornets assigned to the "Swordsmen" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 32 soar through the sky during flight operations aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Truman and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3 are on a scheduled deployment supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and maritime security operations.

SOUTH CHINA SEA (April 29, 2008) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Quoc Nguyen looks on as an AV-8B Harrier, assigned the "Nightmares" of Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 513, lands aboard the flight deck of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed amphibious force.

AFGHANISTAN (Sept. 27, 2008) An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Stingers" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 113 departs a tanker track in Southern Afghanistan to head back to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) while two other Hornets join a British Royal Air Force L-1011 aerial refueling aircraft. Ronald Reagan is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.

PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 11, 2008) An AV-8B Harrier II jet assigned to Fixed Wing Marine Attack Squadron 214 begins a vertical descent toward the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) off the coast of Southern California. Boxer is on a training exercise preparing for a Western-Pacific deployment scheduled for early next year.

PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 09, 2017) Two E-2C Hawkeyes from the “Black Eagles” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 113, fly by the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) during a change-of-command ceremony for VAW-113. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet.
