| One of the mothballed F-14 Tomcat fighter jets at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Monday, June 11, 2007, in Tucson, Ariz., awaits demolition. | PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 5, 2007) - An F/A-18C Hornet, assigned to the "Vigilantes" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 151, left, and an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Bounty Hunters" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 2, line up in preparation to be launched off the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). | AFGHANISTAN (Nov. 7, 2007) - An F/A-18C Hornet, attached to the "Knighthawks" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 136, heads north into Afghanistan during sunset, just prior to beginning a Close Air Support mission in support of ground forces. VFA-136 is assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 embarked aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65).
